The Advocate Scores Four Wines
Dr. Jay Miller of Robert Parker's renowned Wine Advocate has rated four of our Pinot Noirs. The judged wines are as follows:
2006 Treehouse Pinot Noir - 90 Points
"Medium/dark ruby-colored, it exhibits an expressive bouquet of rose petals, cherry, and raspberry. This leads to a silky-textured elegant wine with sweet,
savory fruit and a persistent finish. It is an excellent value. Drink it over the next four years."
2006 Saga Hills Reserve Pinot Noir - 88 Points
"The 2006 Pinot Noir Saga Hills Reserve has an expressive bouquet with plenty of toasty oak and red and black fruits but it comes up just a
bit lean and superficial an the mid-palate although the flavors are attractive."
2006 Tusculum Estate Pinot Noir - 89 Points
"The 2006 Pinot Noir Tusculum Estate is the most deeply colored of this quartet of wines. The nose and flavors are of dark fruits, primarily plum and blueberry. This wine
has decent depth, good concentration, and savory flavors but is lacking elegance. Drink it over the next 4-6 years."
2006 Valencia Estate Pinot Noir - 90+ Points
"The 2006 Pinot Noir Valencia Estate is more marked by oak. Dark ruby-colored, the nose also reveals earth notes, mineral, black cherry and black
raspberry. It offers a bit more depth and grip than the Dundee Hills cuvee and should evolve for 1-2 years."
